Queenstown Research Week (QRW) is New Zealand’s biggest annual scientific gathering and after a two-year hiatus made its comeback in 2022. Lab Supply has been a part of QRW for several years and this year we partnered the event as a silver sponsor.
The Lab Supply stand was a hub of activity across the four days of QRW (29 August – 1 September). Attendees could interact with a range of equipment and consumables from some of our key suppliers like Merck, Eppendorf, Shimadzu, and more. Our stand was also dressed up in red thanks to branded merchandise from our partners Memmert, making for a very vibrant palette alongside the Lab Supply blue and pink!
A particular highlight was the competition at our stand – attendees were asked to guess how many microtubes fit in a cookie jar. There were many scientific approaches to the challenge – from calculating the volume of the cookie jar, to using the jar circumference, and comparing the jar volume to the standard 500/1000 pack sizes you can purchase. It was certainly fascinating watching scientists at work! Check out this video where we reveal the answer.
